Mark, Survivor of MS, at Lourdes

Lourdes, France - Mark is traveling to Lourdes, France this week to thank the Lord for his successful battle with MS. However the disease has taken its toll. Mark's body is frail and his relationships strained. Mark is in need of a miracle to stop the debilitating disease of MS and its constant attack on his life. He is going to Lourdes to ask the Blessed Virgin Mary to pray for a miracle. He is only in his 40's and so wants to see his 5 year old son grow up. Lord, hear and answer him.

Mark is one of the lucky ones who believes in miracles. Many people with life-threatening disease forget to pray and ask for a miracle! Prayer is a powerful tool and helps us with the many struggles we face each day. Prayer makes sense of suffering and the threat of death and can be used to turn disease into an occasion of miracles. Pray for miracles each day. God is listening. Are we asking?

Lord, we pray for Mark and all those who suffer from MS. Let your Holy Spirit transform this disease into a miracle full of joy. Let Mark live! Let his strong faith encourage others to be triumphant in their battle with endless suffering. Hear our prayers for miracles at Lourdes each day through the intercession of Saint Bernadette. Her life story has brought so many souls closer to Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception and our Lord.

Dear Lady of Lourdes, Mother of the poor and the sick, hear our prayers for healing this day. May God be honored and glorified by the miracles in mind, body and spirit that we have received because of our encounter with you.

Holy Mother of the Rosary, remember your children and increase our Faith so that we may seek you always; increase our hope that we may trust in your mercy and bring our love to maturity so that God's will is everything that we seek in this life and the next. Lord, hear our prayer for your mercy and healing. Amen

Remember, Oh gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to thy protection, implored thy help or sought thy intercession was left unaided. Inspired by this confidence, we fly unto thee oh Virgin of Virgins, my Mother. Before thee we stand sinful and sorrowful. Oh Mother of the Word Incarnate dispise not our petitions, but in thy great Mercy hear and answer us. Amen

Jim, Paralyzed Veteran, Wilton, NH

Wilton, NH - The Department of Veterans Affairs allocates sixteen cents a day that is just over three nickels to provide invaluable medical benefits for Paralyzed Veterans.

For Jim, a wheelchair was a lonely place because he thought no one cared. But with the help of www.SupportVeterans.org and their many volunteers, paralyzed veterans like Jim have received 50,000 counseling sessions and interviews, and help with over 31,000 benefit claims. Jim today is a highly successful professional with a future to look forward too.

Please, every time you see a nickel remember in prayer the wheelchair bound veterans, who have served our country and are looking for a second chance to contribute to society. In the care of the paralyzed, a nickel goes a long way. Please help with your prayers and support for all those you meet, who are disabled and in need of assistance.

Saint Margaret, rejected by your parents and society, you turn adversity into grace by becoming a saint through your service to the poor. Intercede for all wounded veterans, especially those with limited mobility. Turn our prayers into grace and our loving concern into blessings for others, who are challenged by being amputees or are wheelchair bound.

Lord, remember Jim, all wounded veterans and the victims of the Boston bombings as they seek to build a new life with the assistance of their family, friends and those who pray for them. Turn their woundedness into a blessing for others. Help the physically impaired in mind, body and spirit.

Jesus, we trust in your mercy!

Tibetan Refugees 2013

Karnataka State, India - Following in the footsteps of the 14th Dalai Lama more than 150,000 Tibetan refugees have fled their homeland to India during the last 50 years. Karnataka State is the site of three Tibetan exile settlements.

Since 1959 the plight of Tibetan refugees has been a concern worldwide. The International Campaign for Tibet has asked our prayers and intervention. The Campaign for Tibet headquarters in Washington, DC shares: "The Chinese government is making Tibetan existence unbearable and we must act now to prevent more tragic deaths. We must rally global outrage at the injustices that Tibetans face - the brutalization of a peaceful people whose most basic human rights have been stripped by communist misrule and unspeakable policies of repression and torture."

Lord, helps us to act and pray on behalf of the Tibetan people for we can speak out without fear. They cannot. We can draw international attention to their plight. We can answer their pleas for help by inspiring worldwide outrage and action. Help us to be their voice for justice by helping to create real change for Tibetans and for all countries suffering from oppression and inhumane treatment. Lord, shower your mercy and love where it is most needed. We ask this through the perpetual intercession of all the saints and angels, especially the martyrs of the twentieth century. Amen

Victims of the Boston Bombings

Boston, MA - Three are dead and 144 persons are injured from an act of violence on Monday at the Boston Marathon. Copley Square was crowed wih families and well-wishers for the 23,000 runners participating in the race. Two bombs placed by the finish line turned a joyous event into a tragedy, as the crowd responded in horror and disbelief.

It is true that life events can test us and challenge our faith, but through your cross and resurrection, oh Lord, you have set us free from all doubt and despair. You have conquered evil with good for all time and eternity. We trust in your divine providence and intervention to manage this situation. Students at Lone Star College

Houston, Texas - Maya Khalil, age 19, was one of the first students on the scene after a 21 old male began slashing students at Lone Star College outside Houston, Texas. Shocked and stunned she began calling for help and taking pictures of the crime scene.

Hours later, Harris County Sheriff Adrian Garcia told reporters that 14 people were injured and two of them were in critical condition. Authorities have detained the suspect, an approximately 21-year-old male enrolled at the school, Garcia said.

It was unclear what the suspect's motive was, or what weapon he used, Garcia said. The investigation is ongoing, he said. "We do not know exactly what type of weapon was used other than to say that it is at this point an unknown instrument," he said. "We don't know whether a knife or some other type of instrument."

Garcia said a call came in to 911 Tuesday morning describing a "male on the loose stabbing people" at the Lone Star College's CyFair campus. Most of the victims had lacerations in their head and neck areas, said Robert Rasa, a spokesman for the CyFair Volunteer Fire Department.

Lord, we pray for all students and their families, who are recovering from this tragic incident. Bring healing for the wounded and turn this situation into an occasion of grace through the prayer and compassionate service of others. Lord, we ask for your protection, intervention and deliverance of all students as they prepare for Spring events and the end of the school year.

Lord, into your hands we commend our children to your loving care and divine destiny. Thy perfect will be done in their lives. May the prayers of your Mother Mary and all the Saints intercede on their behalf. Amen

The End of Slavery in 161 Countries

Washington DC - Slavery is wrong. You know it. We know it. As a country the U.S.A. has officially known it since 1863. But here is something you might not know - Slavery still exists!

Today there are 27 million men, women and children living in the shadows in brothels, factories and in fields working as slaves in 161 countries including the United States.

Will you join "enditmovement.com" and raise your voice and prayers to awaken, inspire and inform people in your community to the reality that slavery exists? Beginning on Mercy Sunday April 7th leaders of faith-based organizations and civic groups are invited to participate in "Shine a light on Slavery" outreach. See enditmovement.com for more information on how you can help.

Start right now. If you know of someone being abused, enslaved for profit or exploited sexually, contact your church or local authorities. Shine your light on it. Join groups in your area who provide aid for the victims and counseling for those involved in such crimes against humanity.

Lord, in your great Mercy you have come to us this Easter Season to set prisoners free. Help us to be instruments of your mercy in all areas where slavery exists.

Let us pray for the marginalized, the exploited and the victimized of our world. Remember all people who are desparate and despairing. Let us shine our Easter light so they might be set free and protected as God's precious children. Inspire people to become more aware, raise their consciousness and provide the means of intervention needed to stop slavery, sex trafficking and the many forms of human abuse prevalent in our world.

Please join us daily as we pray "The Chaplet of the Divine Mercy" for all these intentions and those in the silence of our hearts. "For the sake of His sorrowful Passion have mercy on us and on the whole"... Amen
