Good Stewards of Our Environment

New York, New York - Recently over 100 heads of State and 800 world leaders gathered at the United Nations to attend the 2014 Climate Summit. UN General Ban Ki-Moon summarized the main purpose of the gathering was to raise political momentum for a meaningful universal climate agreement in Paris in 2015 and to galvanize transformative action in all countries to reduce emissions and build resilience to the adverse impacts of climate change.

He asked leaders from government, business, finance and civil society to crystallize a global vision for low-carbon economic growth and to advance climate action on five fronts: cutting emissions; mobilizing money and markets; pricing carbon; strengthening resilience; and mobilizing new coalitions.

An unprecedented number of world leaders attended the Summit, including 100 Heads of State and Government. They were joined by more than 800 leaders from business, finance and civil society. He summarized these points as the most significant:

1. Climate change is a most defining and important issue of our time.
2. Climate change should be considered within the context of efforts to eradicate extreme poverty and promote sustainable development.
3. All Nations should commit to actions that would contain our climate temperature rise to less than 2 degrees Celsius.
4. We all should address loss and damage to the environment as an ongoing priority.
5. The Principles of equity and common loss differentiated responsibility should pervade all decision making.

In conclusion all agreed: "Without significant cuts in emissions by all countries and in key sectors, the window of opportunity to stay within less than 2 degrees will soon close forever."

Please add these concerns to your daily prayer intentions.

Little Teresa please pray for unity and peace among all Nations.

Good Saint Francis help us to be good stewards of our environment.

Saint Faustina inspire us to be merciful to our environment and one another for in being merciful we become more like God. Amen

The Dinesh D'Souza Decision

New York, New York - Dinesh D'Souza found a positive takeaway from his sentencing Tuesday for campaign finance fraud.

The conservative author and filmmaker was sentenced to five years probation, and eight months in a community confinement center, allowing him to avoid prison time. D'Souza told Fox News' Megyn Kelly that he now has "a big smile."

"This was really an effort to put me out of business. The government was trying to lock me up for between 10 and 16 months and a federal judge said no," D'Souza said. "Today my faith in an independent judiciary is affirmed."

D'Souza admitted attempting to go around campaign contribution limits, illegally reimbursing two donors who each gave $10,000 to Republican Wendy Long's unsuccessful bid for the U.S. Senate in New York in 2012. D'Souza pleaded guilty to the charges in May. D'Souza said: "I made a mistake. No one is above the law."

D'Souza said the light sentence would allow him to continue his work.

"If I was locked up I would not have been able to make a film in the election year, 2016," D'Souza said. "Now I can do my work, I can continue to write books, and continue to function."

Lord, we thank you for the gift of your truth and wisdom, which transcend time, space and politics. Help us to remember that your justice prevails, if not in this life, then in the life to come. You bid us to live in our higher nature accountable to your Divine truth.

In this age of dual standards, spinning truth according to convenience, biased thinking, and media exaggeration, we pray for clarity, wisdom and a sense of Divine wisdom, which transcends all circumstance and personal gain. Give us courage, perseverance and unfailing faith in your Divine Word and Providence so that we might always do your will and live by your truth in this life and in the life to come. We ask this through the intercession of our Lady of Ransom and the Incarnation of the Divine Word, Jesus Christ. Amen

The Conversion of all Terrorist Groups

Albania - On a recent trip to Albania, Pope Francis strongly warns ISIS and all terrorist groups for their use of violence and violating human rights, especially life and religious freedom. He said: "Let no one consider themselves to be the 'armor' of God while planning and carrying out acts of violence and oppression," Pope Francis told diplomats at the presidential palace. "May no one use religion as a pretext for actions against human dignity and against the fundamental rights of every man and woman, above all, the right to life and the right of everyone to religious freedom."

The pontiff pointed to the religious peace in Albania, a country relatively new to the concept of religious freedom. The population is 56% Muslim, 10% Catholic and 7% Orthodox, according to the CIA Fact book. The climate of respect and trust between those groups is a "precious gift," the pontiff said.

Let us pray for the increase of respect and trust between religious groups, nations and within families as a precious gift leading to peace and unity.

Padre Pio, please intercede for all souls in most need of conversion that they may receive an increase in faith, hope and love and seek peace and unity rather than violence and division. In God may all nations experience a new and flourishing peace. Amen

The National Day of Remembrance 2014

Washington, DC - On Saturday, September 13, 2014, Citizens for a Pro-Life Society, Priests for Life and the Pro-Life Action League will co-sponsor the second annual National Day of Remembrance for Aborted Children, calling on pro-life Americans to honor the grave sites of our unborn brothers and sisters.

Solemn prayer vigils will be conducted at these grave sites, of which there are 45 across the United States, as well as at dozens of other sites dedicated in memory of aborted children. There have been 57 million unborn children killed under law since the Roe Vs. Wade decision.

Lord, we pray for all unborn children past, present and future and their families. We thank you for the gift of life and the blessing of your image shared with the world through the lives of all babies born and unborn. We ask your continued blessing on all families and their children. Increase our respect for all life and your divine plan for all souls. May your will be done and your kingdom come. We ask this through the intercession of the Holy Family of Nazareth. Jesus, Mary and Joseph pray for all your children now and forever.

The West African Outbreak of Ebola

West Africa - The 2014 Ebola outbreak is the largest Ebola outbreak in history and the first in West Africa. The current outbreak is affecting multiple countries in West Africa such as Guinea, Liberia, Nigeria, Sierra Leone and Senegal. The outbreak does not pose a significant risk to the United States. A small number of cases in Lagos and Port Harcourt, Nigeria, have been associated with a man from Liberia who traveled to Lagos and died from Ebola, but the virus does not appear to have been widely spread in Nigeria. The case in Senegal is related to a man who traveled there from Guinea.

CDC is working with other U.S. government agencies, the World Health Organization (WHO), and other domestic and international partners and has activated its Emergency Operations Center to help coordinate technical assistance and control activities with partners. CDC has also deployed teams of public health experts to West Africa and will continue to send experts to the affected countries.

Lord, remember those who suffer this day. Remember your little ones: the sick, the poor and the dying. Provide for them the help they need and the comfort of your promise of Eternal Life. May your Spirit rest upon them and remain with them until at last they are at one with you in this life and the next. For this we pray through the intercession of all the saints and angels. Amen

"Jesus remember us in our hour of need. May all that we suffer be united with your cross for the good of souls." Amen

NATO Summit in Scotland

Scotland - As President Obama and other NATO leaders gather in Scotland to discuss world wide concerns and issues, let us pray for the success of their talks and for positive solutions to the many critical problems facing our world today, especially in the Ukraine and the Middle East. May their collaborative efforts bring peace to these troubled areas and may respect for human life and our shared God given values guide their decision making and leadership efforts.

God, Source of all life and Creator of our many resources and blessings, help us to be good stewards of all you have given us. Protect all Nations, peoples and families and help us create a better world by all that we do and say. Give wisdom to all those working on issues, which will protect our environment and future commitments to world peace and prosperity. Help our world governments and their leaders to value what is truly important and make life giving choices which will ensure peace and justice for all humankind.

Where there is anxiety and despair, let there be hope and belief in the common good. Where there are differences, let their be consensus for world peace. Where there is hatred, let there be peace and mutual respect. Where there is violence, let there be a world view dedicated to life and the safe guarding of human rights such as freedom of religion and the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

Lord, God of the universe, inspire all leaders to use our resources wisely to defend the common good and bring an end to violence and the tyranny of war and oppression. Help us to be thankful for all you have given us and safe guard our many blessings as we make difficult choices during these troubled times. Bring to an end terrorism and religious persecution, which have caused so many deaths, mass destruction and despair.

Lord of all Hope and Divine Providence guide all world leaders to seek peace and your will for all peoples and nations. Give success to all political deliberations so there will be lasting peace and the safe-guarding of all life and personal integrity for all Nations.

In God we entrust our past, present and future. May your will be done and your wisdom prevail. Amen

Syrian Refugees in Need

Syria - Refugees of the Syrian Civil War, widely referred to as the Syrian refugees, are Syrian nationals, who have fled Syria with the escalation of the Syrian Civil War. To escape the violence, roughly three million Syrian refugees have fled their country to neighboring Jordan, Lebanon, Turkey, Iraq and Iraqi Kurdistan, while thousands also have ended up in more distant countries of the Caucasus, the Persian Gulf and North Africa.

This critical refugee migration has created a most urgent humanitarian crisis needing immediate worldwide attention. Families are suffering due to a lack of food, clothing and shelter. Please pray for all people displaced by the 40 wars raging around the world, especially those in the Syria and the Middle East. Pray for peace and the resources needed to meet the needs of all the refugees throughout the world.

Holy Family of Nazareth, please intercede for all Syrian Refugees and their temporal and spiritual needs. Bring hope and consolation to all homeless families in the world. We ask this in Jesus' name. Amen
