Memorial Day Blessings

Memorial Day 2017 - Let us remember in prayer all those who dedicated their lives to serving our country, both living and deceased. May God bless them and their families for all that they have given so that we might enjoy our many freedoms. They have blessed us with their courage, fortitude, love of country and faithful service. Let us ask God to shower abundantly all our veterans and public servants with His choicest blessings as we celebrate Memorial Day at home and throughout our Nation.

Together let us pray: "Lord, may your divine assistance remain always with us and may the souls of the faithfully departed by the mercy of God rest in peace." Amen

Concluding Prayers for the Easter Season

Feast of the Ascension 2017 - The Feast of the Ascension readies us for our Lord's glory by allowing us to witness and contemplate the ascending of Jesus Christ into heaven. Nine days later we will celebrate Pentecost and the outpouring of the Holy Spirit upon all of God's children. Please join us as we deepen our union with God by praying for the many graces, which our Lord wishes to share with us during this holy time.

Following are two prayers which are traditionally said daily during the Novena for the Holy Spirit.

"On my knees before the great multitude of heavenly witnesses, I offer myself, soul and body to You, Eternal Spirit of God. I adore the brightness of Your purity, the unerring keenness of Your justice, and the might of Your love. You are the Strength and Light of my soul. In You I live and move and am. I desire never to grieve You by unfaithfulness to grace and I pray with all my heart to be kept from the smallest sin against You. Mercifully guard my every thought and grant that I may always watch for Your light, and listen to Your voice, and follow Your gracious inspirations. I cling to You and give myself to You and ask You, by Your compassion to watch over me in my weakness. Holding the pierced Feet of Jesus and looking at His Five Wounds, and trusting in His Precious Blood and adoring His opened Side and stricken Heart, I implore You, Adorable Spirit, Helper of my infirmity, to keep me in Your grace that I may never sin against You. Give me grace, O Holy Spirit, Spirit of the Father and the Son to say to You always and everywhere, 'Speak Lord for Your servant listening.' Amen."

Following is a second prayer which is also to be prayed daily during the 9 day Novena for the Holy Spirit. For the daily introductory texts for the 9 days of the novena see's Devotional novena prayers.

"O Lord Jesus Christ, Who, before ascending into heaven, did promise to send the Holy Spirit to finish Your work in the souls of Your Apostles and Disciples, deign to grant the same Holy Spirit to me that He may perfect in my soul, the work of Your grace and Your love. Grant me the Spirit of Wisdom that I may despise the perishable things of this world and aspire only after the things that are eternal, the Spirit of Understanding to enlighten my mind with the light of Your divine truth, the Spirit of Counsel that I may ever choose the surest way of pleasing God and gaining heaven, the Spirit of Fortitude that I may bear my cross with You and that I may overcome with courage all the obstacles that oppose my salvation, the Spirit of Knowledge that I may know God and know myself and grow perfect in the science of the Saints, the Spirit of Piety that I may find the service of God sweet and amiable, and the Spirit of Fear that I may be filled with a loving reverence towards God and may dread in any way to displease Him. Mark me, dear Lord, with the sign of Your true disciples and animate me in all things with Your Spirit. Amen."

Lord, thank you for your Ascension, which is your promise to us that if we strive to become saints and live a holy life by your grace we may share in your glorious Ascension, as your Sons and Daughters.

"Pour forth, we beseech Thee O Lord, thy grace into our hearts; that as we have known the incarnation of Christ, your Son by the message of an angel, so by His Passion and Cross we may be brought to the glory of His resurrection. Through the same Christ, our Lord. Amen" - The concluding prayer of the Angelus

Our Lady of Fatima Pray for us!

Fatima, Portugal - As we celebrate the 100th Anniversary of the Fatima messages, let us thank God for the power of prayer. Our Lady of Fatima visited three shepherd children in 1917 to encourage all of us to be faithful in praying the rosary. Her message that prayer, penance and fasting can change the world still applies today. Prayer can alleviate suffering, effect the length and the outcome of wars, save souls and help shape our divine destiny.

Through the intercession of Our Blessed Mother Mary and all the saints the power of divine grace can accomplish God's will in new amazing and wonderful ways. Let us pray with the same confidence as the three shepherd children of Fatima. Let us invite the healing grace of Fatima into our hearts, our homes and our world.

Saints Jacinta and Francisco Marto, pray for us.

Our Lady of the Rosary, pray for us.

Angel of Portugal, be our constant guide and protection. Amen

May 30 Day Prayer for Your Intentions

Feast of Saint Joseph the Worker 2017 - During the month of May, let us ask Good Saint Joseph, Our Blessed Mother Mary and the Holy Child Jesus of Nazareth to intercede for all our prayer intentions.

"Ever blessed and glorious Joseph, kind and loving father, and helpful friend of all in sorrow! You are the good father and protector of orphans, the defender of the defenseless, the patron of those in need and sorrow. Look kindly on my request. My sins have drawn down on me the just displeasure of my God, and so I am surrounded with unhappiness. To you, loving guardian of the Family of Nazareth, do I go for help and protection.

Listen then, I beg you, with fatherly concern, to my earnest prayers, and obtain for me the favors I ask. I ask it by the infinite mercy of the eternal Son of God, which moved Him to take our nature and to be born into this world of sorrow. I ask it by the weariness and suffering you endured when you found no shelter at the inn of Bethlehem for the holy Virgin, nor a house where the Son of God could be born.   Then, being everywhere refused, you had to allow the Queen of Heaven to give birth to the world's Redeemer in a cave.

I ask it by the loveliness and power of that sacred name, Jesus, which you conferred on the adorable infant. I ask it by that painful torture you felt at the prophecy of holy Simeon, which declared the Child Jesus and His holy Mother future victims of our sins and of their great love for us.

I ask it through your sorrow and pain of soul when the angel declared to you that the life of the Child Jesus was sought by His enemies. From their evil plan you had to flee with Him and His Blessed Mother to Egypt. I ask it by all the suffering, weariness, and labors of that long and dangerous journey.

I ask it by all your care to protect the Sacred Child and His Immaculate Mother during your second journey, when you were ordered to return to your own country. I ask it by your peaceful life in Nazareth where you met with so many joys and sorrows. I ask it by your great distress when the adorable Child was lost to you and His Mother for three days. I ask it by your joy at finding Him in the Temple, and by the comfort you found at Nazareth, while living in the company of the Child Jesus. I ask it by the wonderful submission He showed in His obedience to you.

I ask it by the perfect love and conformity you showed in accepting the Divine order to depart from this life, and from the company of Jesus and Mary. I ask it by the joy which filled your soul, when the Redeemer of the world, triumphant over death and hell, entered into the possession of His kingdom and led you into it with special honors.

I ask it through Mary's glorious Assumption, and through that endless happiness you have with her in the presence of God. O good father! I beg you, by all your sufferings, sorrows, and joys, to hear me and obtain for me what I ask.

(make your request)

Obtain for all those who have asked my prayers everything that is useful to them in the plan of God. Finally, my dear patron and father, be with me and all who are dear to me in our last moments, that we may eternally sing the praises of Jesus, Mary and Joseph." Amen - EWTN Devotional Prayer
